We're back!!!
This past month has been absolutely PACKED with updates from the Wix ecosystem! We're talking about 15+ new API releases, the launch of a powerful MCP server, some game-changing features, and, of course, updates from our side of the Wix world. Between launching our Community Forum App, dropping five new tutorials, and Wix going on an API-releasing spree, there's a lot to unpack this month.

What's Been Happening with The Wix Wiz?
We've been busy bees this month! First off, we launched something I'm genuinely excited about - The Community Forum App. This is our answer to Wix deprecating their beloved Forum app (which, let's be honest, was a bit of a shock to the community). You can try it out here and see what we've been cooking up as an alternative.
For those who missed the drama, back in April, Wix announced they're deprecating the Forum app in favor of their Groups app. The Forum app disappeared from the App Market on April 15th, posting will stop in October 2025, and by March 2026, all existing forums will be permanently deleted. Not exactly what the community wanted to hear, so we decided to do something about it!
On the content front, we've been cranking out tutorials that tackle some of the most requested topics from you all. Here's what dropped this month:

What's Been Happening on Wix?
Okay, a lot of really good stuff has been happening on Wix. From launching a new powerful MCP server to releasing back-to-back new APIs and Wix acquiring Base 44 to further expand into vibe coding—Wix has been up to a lot in June!
Now, let's break down the highlights into tiny pieces:
- Model Content Protocol (MCP) Server:
This powerful tool was released to make working with Wix tools and services much easier and faster! No more spending much time looking for information on Wix documentation when you can configure the WIX MCP server to make any AI clients like Claude or Cursor do the work for you.
Configuring the WIX MCP server enables you to use your AI clients to perform tasks like searching the entire WIX documentation, working on live sites, and performing functionalities like adding CMS collections or even making WIX API calls on Wix sites. This amazing tool is saying goodbye to manual work and hello to smarter and easier ways of doing things on Wix with AI.
- New API Releases:
Wix seems to be on an API release spree because the last time I checked, I counted about 15+ new API releases in June alone. Let’s take a peek at some of these APIs:
- Custom Embeds API: This is the most exciting release for most of us. Remember when you had to pay for custom code embeds? Well, those days are over! The new Custom Embeds API lets you embed HTML and JavaScript directly into your pages programmatically. You can position code in the head or body, enable/disable embeds without deleting them, and even monitor changes through domain events. It's like having superpowers for customization!

- Wix Site Search API - Finally! Wix has introduced an easy way to search and retrieve documents from your site. The Wix Sites Search API makes it easy for customers to search and retrieve information on your site. This is particularly useful in cases where customers need to get a specific product on your site or search for upcoming events. You can also use this API to perform aggregations on the retrieved data, such as categorizing the search results by specific price range and brand name.
The Data Items API has also got a new search method that provides an easier way to search for specific items in a database collection using text search and filter criteria.
Now, you don’t have to bother about how to implement these API functionalities on your site, because I will be creating a video on it next month—watch out for it!
- Automations V2 API: Automation has also gotten a major upgrade. The Automation V2 API lets you create, query, update, and delete automation programmatically. Think automated invoices, database updates, and all those repetitive tasks you wish you didn't have to do manually.
- Wix & Base 44 Collaboration
Also in June, Wix acquired Base 44, an AI-powered tool, for $80 million. Wix made this move to jump on the latest trend of vibe coding that has been generating buzz since the beginning of this year. This trend involves building applications using natural prompts rather than traditional coding methods.
With this powerful addition to Wix, you can expect to build more scalable and efficient applications effortlessly by just using natural prompts. This is one of the proofs that Wix is indeed making significant efforts to help everyone bring their ideas to life, regardless of their technical expertise.
What This Means for You
The introduction of the MCP server on Wix means a less stressful and more efficient way to work with Wix tools. Whether you want to search for information in the Wix documentation or create and publish a new site, you can configure the MCP server to make your AI clients do the work.
The Custom Embeds API is also going to change how we approach site customization. No more worrying about premium features for basic code injection. Meanwhile, Wix's collaboration with Base44 is also opening up more efficient and smarter ways to build scalable applications using natural prompts—vibe coding on Wix? Be ready to build even more amazing things with AI!
The sheer volume of releases this month tells me Wix is taking its best shot at making the platform more developer-friendly and business-capable. It's an exciting time to be building on Wix!
Looking Ahead
With all these new APIs, expect to see tutorials covering the most requested ones in the coming weeks. The Custom Embeds API is definitely getting the full treatment because building some cool functionalities with the Custom Embeds for free sounded impossible just a few months ago. Now, you can add a dynamic banner for sales countdowns or time-sensitive promotions using the Custom Embed without paying a dime!
