Could you advise on the steps to undertake in redesigning a client's existing website? The site currently hosts paid subscriber members and must continue to operate throughout the redesign process.
The redesign aims to incorporate new branding and additional features, such as updated media libraries and new products.
We sought guidance from Wix support, who suggested purchasing a second premium plan, though this option appears costly. Additionally, when inquiring about deployment strategies, the support representative informed us that there is no version control, like GIT, available.
Love to hear the Wix Wiz community's process.
Hi, That's a great question! Here are a few ways you can approach a redesign on a live site: 1. As you mentioned above, copying the site and doing the redesign on it first. You don't have to upgrade that site to premium. Just copy over the new design once it's completed and approved. 2. If you are only adding new pages, you can keep them hidden and/or behind a password until they are complete. 3. You can make the edits directly to the original site and just make sure not to publish until the design is complete and approved (this can sometimes be challenging if other aspects of the site need frequent updating). There may be other ideas out there! Eitan
